Role Reversals (well, kinda sorta).
Every now and then I like to look at the wingnuts (who I define as anyone who refers to me as a moonbat) and see what they’re talking about. You know, to see what delusions are going on in their angry little worlds. The best part is when I read the words of a real human being who disagree with and respect, but usually I wind up just observing how the dialogue changes as the political winds blow (or suck, as may be).
On Hot Air (the most aptly-named blog evah), the commenter “mr. fixit” had the following to say about questions of Clinton’s fiduciary conduct (notice that the source is the New York Post citing Hotline sans link) and Jefferson’s possible appointment to the Homeland Security Committe:
Mmmmmmmmmm beef. I’ll take the half cow special, but yer gonna have to cut it up into small unmarked denominations.
Liberalism always generates the exact opposite of its stated intent.
If you want to know what the Left is up to, simply look at what they are accusing the right of doing.

Emphasis mine. Now see? This kind of comment is valuable, because not only do I get to laugh and say “hey, that’s the same thing I say about you people,” it calls for a moment of self-reflection just to make sure that you’re not doing what you’re accusing others of. In my mind, it’s a win-win situation.
Plus, it’s even funnier when someone else just slides right by the beam in their own eye to come after you with a microscope. Again, from Hot Air:
I don’t claim to know Michelle that well, but I do read what she writes, and I follow this site, and that characterization seems like a disservice to her. I know some bloggers and columnists who are nothing but combative controversialists, and them, I avoid. Some pundits are outspoken to conceal a lack of ideas–and that’s obviously not Michelle.
Yah. “Lock’em-Up” Malkin gotz ideaz.
HEY. Now I remember what infuriating piece of garbage I was going to rant about.
It may seem perverse to suggest that, at the very moment the House of Representatives is repudiating his policy in Iraq, President Bush is poised for a political comeback. But don’t be astonished if that is the case.
Read the whole thing, I’m not going to quote it any more than that. My only comment to Mr. Broder is that he put just a little too much topspin on that one for believability. I get the feeling that the message he was trying to convey is that Bush isn’t dead yet. True. He’s fallen off a cliff, bounced off a few ledges, finally landed on one – and managing to get back up without plummeting into the bottomless chasm beneath him. Good for Bush. Saying that Bush “has been impressive in recent days” is only believable from that perspective, unless you’re comparing his post-election performance to his post-Katrina performance.
Didn’t someone say something about low expectations earlier? Fine, then don’t turn that bigotry on Bush – call his situation just as ugly as it is. Whatever you do, don’t compare his difficulties to Clinton’s, because Clinton was never in this much trouble – legally, morally, or polling-wise.
If you want good political commentary, I suggest a glance at this:

Yoinked for a before-and-after of the Libby trial. Please don’t sue me. :D
