1. The years of posts are about to be recovered, and the blog will be moving back to its old server.

2. Rep. Jefferson found guilty. The RICO conviction is what really stings (and it should). Hopefully he will lose the title “Honorable.”

3. The recent killings reinforce one point for me: it is absolutely poisonous to live your life expecting others to conform to your fantasy of how they should behave. It may feel wonderful to contemplate how life would be if everyone acted as “they should,” but they don’t and won’t. Your beliefs are your problem, as is your behavior; believing that others are subordinate to your expectations, whatever the motivation, is not only asking for trouble, it encourages you to create it.
