Take a look at this for a moment.

Do you see the problem there? I’ll give you a hint: how would you feel if instead of being called a house slave, she said “you just feel that way because you’re a whore,” or “you just feel that way because you like to screw,” or even more basically “you just feel that way because you’ve been brainwashed.”
How would you feel if it was a man who wrote that post, and he said to Maggie “you just feel that way because you’re a woman?”
I am so goddamn sick of people who claim to know what they CAN’T possibly know – and then who use these revelations to justify legal action UPON others.

“…and have actively shutdown our organizing efforts”
I’d like more details on this. If there is political skullduggery afoot I’d certainly like to know about it. Interfering with people’s rights to organize, seek to change policy and address grievances is a serious matter. I know a lot of the sneaky tricks and outright intimidation tactics used in the past and still used today. The groups/individuals and what specific actions they have perpetrated need to be documented and exposed
As for that comment, all I have to say is that when any groups, such as animal rights activists, prolifers, and now these dopes, try to compare their issue with Slavery/The Holocaust/Etc it ALWAYS fails
Simple: when most of the justifications for things ranging from the Swedish Model to absolute prohibition (espeically things like drugs, alcohol, etc) are thinly-veiled fire and brimstone sermons, it is a sign that someone is trying to legislate from ignorance. In the United States, the ongoing efforts (partially successful) to move prostitution from a crime handled by the stereotypical “vice” squad to one that is handled under legislation regarding human trafficking changes the entire focus and degree of the law’s disapproval – and usually for no other reason than to demonstrate what Fine, Upstanding People the politicians voting for said restrictions (and those who support them) are.
